1. Emotionalism
Psychological aspects of design are extensively addressed. Design needs to go beyond form and function if they become “objects of desire”. Design must make pleasurable emotion connections with end-user.
Emotional Plurality Index
Opt out of technologies (Form emotional connection)
2. Effect of new technology
Computers and industrial have assisted in research and implementation of design. Technological advancement had changed cultures and created new opportunities
The Tech Paradox (Are we making life easier or more complicated?)
Digital Fashion Commonplace (roblox)
3. Tendency towards individualistic or universal solutions
Some designers inject individual creative expression others promote universal solutions, like sustainable design, inclusivity and aging population
Community 3.0
Racial Reform
4. The need for simplification
Technology must be tamed in order to realise things that have the simplest possible relation with man. There is rejection to technologically driven design that has no regard for human needs.
The recession generation
5. Potential offered by new materials
Increasing availability of new synthetic materials, how materials like plastic, ceramic, metal, glass should behave under accustomed conditions.

Reflections
As I researched initially on communication as a topic, I realised the topic of how communication has changed because of technology. In the past, we as humans had more means of communicating and expressing nuances in our communication. Now it is so much harder to express online through texting and even through Zoom. Even emojis, stickers, and gifs cannot really encompass the nuances of communication that come through our body movement and speech inclinations. Like I can't stand online lesson because I can't fully understand the other person talking.
The lack of inter-connected & personal relationships people have now despite our vastly more connected world. We have de-grown as a society in a lot of ways in regards to the ability to communicate and connect. Humans are beings that need social communication and fellowship. They cannot go down this journey of life alone and lead a joyful life. How do we navigate in this world where everyone is so much more lonely now then ever before?
Design Manifesto
Design is honest about its intentions
Design is forward-thinking
Design is not built by one person
Design with people and not just for people
Design is not trend-seekers
No Design will be perfect
Design is adaptive
My design philosophy is one that considers change as a constant in life and it is the role of design to adapt and create change. There are a lot of issues and tech development and hidden agendas everywhere. And even if that becomes the norm, I do not want my design to reflect that. Even as I design to face changes and create changes, the constant in my design will remain the heart behind it. Not for myself but for others. To not let myself be selfish and cover over flaws and deflect. Always have a heart toward the design process and not sorely for end goal
