Studio Updates Week 5
Presentation Preparation
So throughout the weekend, me and my groupmates prepared for our presentation, The key things we wanted to add to our slides was more context on our project, expand on our solution, as well as keeping things more concise and precise. We did a trial run of our presentation on Monday through teams. From there we also fine tune our presentation slides even more. I will be going through the context of our project (research, stakeholder) and the persona, Harshi will be going though the journey map and the pain points, while Yue will be going through our solutions. Below is the slides that we have prepared:
Feedback from Lecturers
We did this presentation at school so that it would be easier to present as well as to allow us to work on our projects together afterwards.

This was a combined presentation with Group 2 so the feedback was given by the group 2 lecturers. They first asked us what do students bring to school and we answered them based on my understanding, Then they gave suggestion on maybe considering what the other students from different schools needed and making different lockers to fit their needs. Also gave suggstion on maybe looking at other locker system like POP, post office and liabrary. Using that they suggest maybe putting the lockers at a seperate location for student to collect.
I think me and my group did not find the suggestion given very helpful as we have researched on our target user pior to this and have already understand that our stakeholder were satisfied with the locker sizes provided and it was clearly the process of getting a locker and communicating that a gap exist. From this we realise we need to be more thourough in explaining this to our audience. We also decided that we had to work on our tory board to convey our context better. With all of this, we decided to head into producing the neccessary deliverables.
Service Blueprint
After the presentation, we decided to continue to refined the service blueprint for our service. We did the broad stroke of service blueprint together in the class and I was assigned to refine it and make it concise. Below is our updated service blueprint on Miro and more refined one I did on Illustrator.

Refined Service Blueprint 1.0

After I did the service blueprint and showed it to my other teammates. I tried to do some differentiating with colours on things like the sharing the locker using the purple and using the green to differentiate the T&C part but I think might not make enough sense. But I think it doesn't translate well. Additionally, I think we also thought about the reminder system on the rules and regulation should be placed where the user will read it. Hence through discussion, decided that it should be given more opportunities to remind the user. Using that, I refine the Service Blueprint to thr below
Refined Service Blueprint 2.0

Story Board
After the presentation, we also found it key to do our story board to better illustrate our user journey map as well as the context. This was mainly done by Yue and Harshi, with Yue drawing the draft and Harshi doing the final one. I just gave my feedback on the overall flow of it. We decided to do 2 story board, one which is the current system and the other which is when our service design is present. Below is Yue's draft of the current journey map of getting a locker:

Colour Scheme and Branding
We also decide to also discuss the colour scheme and the branding of our product. I think we wanted to keep some of the existing colour scheme of the lockers. Blue and yellow. We decide to focus on the Blue as it is the majority of the lockers and looks more welcoming. Below are some of the colour scheme created.
First Round Colour Scheme

Service Design Name
We also started to try forming names for our brand since the previous name of my project wasn't that well thought out. Here are our attempts below but we haven't fully selected one yet. I have highlighted the ones we were more keen on
- RentASpace
- EasyLocker
- LockerHub
- SwiftLocker
- Lockerly
- EasyLock
- NAFALock
- ArtSpace
- NAFASpace
- TheStorage
- RentBox
- StorageSpot
- Lock And Go
- AcademyBin
- StorageEase
- EasyStorage
I think with these few names we were seeing that it may resemble the previous system name too much (Rent-a-locker). So I suggested maybe going for a not so direct approach through naming it after animals or other things. So these where the attempts below which we are currently still working on:
- Lock&Key
- Lockerly
- EasyLock
- Lock N Go
- LockerHub
- CampusCube
- GoLocker
- KoalaLock
- StudentBox
- LockSquirrel
- SquirrelLock
- Koalocker
- Storage Squirrel
- KoalaStorage
- Lockeezy
- Squilock
- BearBox
- StorageMonkey
- KoalaBox
Branding Scheme
For now, we decided to just stick to Lockerly as a deflault name first and Yue decided to make some branding (Font, logo, colour scheme, etc) first to get a general feel for the locker. She started with the font first below

We were also unsure whether we should go all in with the NAFA branding. But we decided that it was too on nose. We still were contemplating whether we should have be more branded towards arts student or a more generic branding. Yue decided to just try coming up with 2 varients of the design first.

I think all of us agree that we prefer the second design over the first one even though both are good. I think it fits with the modern trend of having a bright colour with a pastel accent. And even though the first one might fit in with the NAFA school colours more. I think overall we are more inclined towards the second one so we will be focusing more on this direction.
Phone App Design
Wireframing
We also decided to start doing our app design. I decided to do the wireframing for the app. I think we wanted to highlight only the key panels of the app. But as I did the wire frame I realise it was easier for me to figure out the app by wireframing the whole process as I did below.

Actual App Design
From there I also created the app on Adobe XD. there are still some thing missing on both like the logo, the map and the terms and condition. But overall I emulated the branding that Yue did above in the XD file below:

Personal Reflection
I think overall this week has been a very hectic one after the presentation as our whole team went full on production mode straight away. I think even though the feedback was not the pleasant for us to hear, it gave us a better understanding of how impportant the context and research to back it up is. For without it we would not be able to convince the other of the problem or the solution. So we have kept that in mind and are editing our slides accordingly. Also grateful for my teammates for the suppport given and teamwork. I sometimes think we might be going too fast but we see what happens when we get feedback from the lecturers next week. But overall we have a firm understanding on what we want to deliver and a firm plan of attack for what we need to do.
