Week 10 Lecture

Research & Analysis

Field research

Direct observation --> Record and watch participants. (Ways and means of

recording data determines the data set recorded). Try to give

a parameter and remain as an observer and not a participant.

Check your bias

Participant Observation --> Specifically looking at stackholder and seeing what they

do. Supporting one another. Objectivity. Having multiple

dataset leads to less bias. We may not know the

operational and communication system and we will learn

this from participants

Qualitative Interview --> Allow for comparitve. Types: Informal. Semi-formal &

Standardise/open ending

Analysis

Transcription and Data organisation

Organise and code them: Thematic Analysis (look at patterns and them in dataset) and content analysis see repeating keywords and ideas and create catagories for them)

Interpretation: diff interpretation from diff group member so discussion required

Triangulation: Data collect from multiple sources and comparing and contrasting data set

Literature Review: Looking at trusted and published sources
